Our Method
Diagnose. Plan. Teach. Measure.
FDIA is built on a repeatable teaching cycle. Nothing is left to guesswork, and no student sits in a class that is above or below their level.
The Cycle
Four stages, every term
Diagnose
A $60 45-minute written and verbal assessment identifies the exact skills a student has mastered and the ones missing. We also review recent school reports and assessment feedback.
Plan
Parents receive a written learning plan: term goals, weekly focus areas, homework load, and the tutor best matched to the student's subjects and temperament.
Teach
Small groups of no more than six, or one-to-one. Every lesson has explicit instruction, guided practice, independent practice and an exit check.
Measure
Fortnightly skill checks, marked practice papers and a termly written report. If progress stalls, we change the plan rather than repeat the term.
Principles
What we insist on in the classroom
Explicit instruction
Concepts are taught directly and modelled before students practise alone.
Spaced revision
Earlier topics return in every lesson so knowledge holds under exam pressure.
Marking that teaches
Written work is marked against the real criteria sheets students are graded on.
Parent visibility
You always know what was covered, what was set, and what comes next.
